Arrived England August 18, 1916 on SS Cameronia. TOS "In the Field" with 19th Battalion on October 10, 1916 and was attached for a while to 6th Company, Field Engineers in November, 1916.
War Diary for the 19th Battalion does not mention any casualties on the day he died, and in fact they were in Brigade Reserve at Railway Embankment on May 31 and were moving to Divisional Support near Neuville St. Vaast on June 1.
Ross's brother Earl was KIA April 23, 1915 while serving with 9th Battery, 3rd Brigade, CFA.
