170th Battalion Nominal Roll
Sailed to England with the 170th Battalion aboard the SS Mauretania for Halifax to Liverpool, October 25-31, 1916.
75th Battalion C Company Attached to the Canadian Base Depot, Havre, on arrival in France on December 06, 1916. Joined the 75th Battalion in Brigade Reserve at Berthonval Wood on December 30. Was sent on a Lewis Gun course from January 11-21, 1917. Was reported Missing in Action following the disastrous trench raid on Hill 145 on March 1, 1917. He was later confirmed as killed in action on that date. His body was recovered and buried in the Zouave Valley Cemetery, but the grave could not be positively identifed after the war
