Uploader's Notes: In 1911 the Hull family in Shaftsbury Dorset, England consists of father Mark Reuben (1869-1942) a Gardener, mother Keturah Matilda Bastable (1864-1939), son Arthur John(1890-1917) a Baker, son William George (1895) and daughters Ida Kate (1899), Frances Louise(1892-1983) and Grace Ida Winnifred(1896-1897). Arthur John Hull, a Baker now age 21, arrives in Canada in April 1911 on the SS Canada to Halifax Nova Scotia and relocates to Winnipeg Manitoba to work as a Farm Labourer and enlists in the 90th Battalion in Winnipeg on 22 January 1916. The 90th Battalion was authorized on 22 Dec 1915 with Private Hull being an early member and sails for England on 31 May 1916. On 19 July 1916 the 90th became the 11th Reserve Battalion and on 28 Aug 1916 Pte Hull transfers to the 8th Battalion. On 15 Aug 1917 26 year old Arthur John Hull is killed in action as a member of the 8th Battalion, 2nd Infantry Brigade, 1st Division on the starting day of The Battle For Hill 70.
