Uploader's Notes: Lance Corporal Barnes was the son of William Charles Barnes and Hanna (née Hargrave) Barnes. He was born on 10 October 1896 in Seabright, Ontario. Regretfully, he died 9 days before his 22nd birthday. He was the brother of Belle, Mary, Gertrude, George, Mae, Pearl, James, - John, Annie and Joseph. In his civilian life, he was a farmer. He was single and looked very enthusiastic about a military career.
