Uploader's Notes: Son of William Ackers, of 25, Cottonham St., Kensington, Liverpool, England. Served in the South African War with the 3rd Lancashire Regiment 1899-1905. Enlisted for CEF with the 104th Regiment, Westminster Fusiliers of Canada. CEF Burial Registers - the Company to which Private Ackers belonged was moving forward into support trenches at DAMERY on the 17th of August, 1918, when this soldier was wounded by enemy shell fire. His wounds were immediately dressed by a stretcher bearer and he was carried out and evacuated to #49 Casualty Clearing Sttion where he succumbed to his wounds the same day.
