Son of James Walter Curry, K.C., M.P.P., and Amy Mae Curry (nee Eyre)
Invalided home in 1915 as a result of typhoid fever contracted at the Second Battle of Ypres. Rejoined the 83rd Battalion on October 1, 1915 in Canada as a Lieutenant, then re-signed Attestation papers with the 83rd Battalion April 1, 1916 as a Captain. Once overseas, he took a reduction in rank to transfer back to the 3rd Battalion as a Captain
