Uploader's Notes: Religion stated as Other Protestants - Welcome Zion. Prior military service with 43rd Regiment, Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles. Son of Mr. C. V. and Ada Hooper, of 18, Rideau St., Ottawa, Ontario. Born at Stoke, Devonport, England. CEF Burial Registers - Died of Wounds - whilst a member of a carrying party returning along the Albert-Bapaume Road from the trenches to the camp at Contalmaison, he was severely wounded and rendered unconscious by the explosion of an enemy shell that landed in the midst of the party. He received immediate attention and was taken to No. 13 Canadian Field Ambulance where he died half an hour later.
