[Lieutenant Army Canadian Infantry 15th Reserve Battalion Corporal Army Canadian Engineers Canadian Engineers Regimental Depot Depot Company Posted to CERD for administrative purposes while attending officer training. He attended the Canadian Training School at Bexhill from November 11, 1917 to January 25, 1918. Commissioned as a Lieutenant on January 26, (London Gazette 30520). Sapper Army Canadian Engineers Canadian Engineers Regimental Depot Enlisted with the permanent force and assigned regimental number 748
Corporal Army Canadian Engineers 2nd Army Troops Company Reverted to Sapper on proceeding to France with this unit. Promoted back to Corporal on June 24, 1916. From August 01 to October 01, 1916 he was attached to Quintin Yards for duty. Granted leave to England from December 16-27, 1916; and special leave from January 27 to February 09, 1917. From April 19 to June 11 he was attached to the 10th Infantry Brigade for duty. He was sent on a gas course from September 09-15. Corporal Army Canadian Engineers Canadian Engineers Training Depot Posted to the Shorncliffe depot on arrival in England. On October 08 he was authorized to receive qualification pay of $1.30 per day, back dated to June 24. The following day he was assigned to the Shorncliffe Military Police Detachment for duty. Corporal Army Canadian Engineers Canadian Engineers Training Depot 2nd Reinforcing Draft Transferred from the Royal Canadian Engineers to the Canadian Engineers Training Depot, Rockliffe Camp, Ontario, and promoted to Corporal. Sailed with the Canadian Engineers 2nd Reinforcing Draft aboard SS Northland from Montreal to Devonport, June 29 to July 09, 1915.
Lieutenant Army Canadian Infantry 46th Battalion A Company Proceeded to France on August 23. Attached to the Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp from August 28 to September 04. Joined the 46th Battalion on September 06 at Tilloy. He was killed by the blast from a stick grenade during the attack across the Canal du Nord.
