The war diary states that the 44th battalion were involved in the summer offensive to end the war. They were fighting around Fouqescourt and Parvillers which is about 18 miles to the east of Amiens. Whilst taking the village of Fouqescourt they suufered heavy casualties until tank power helped them in taking the village.
