Son of Francis and Ellen M. Goyer, of Alpena, Mich., U.S.A.

Casualty form gives date of casualty as 9/10-4-1917. He was wounded by a piece of shrapnel from an enemy high explosive shell, whilst taking part in an attack on Vimy Ridge, on the morning of April 9th, 1917. He was evacuated to No. 10 Canadian Field Ambulance where he succumbed to the effects of his wounds the same night.

He was a naturalized British subject.
