Uploader's Research notes: Source: LAC files [Gunner Army Canadian Field Artillery 9th Brigade 32nd Battery Enlisted with the 32nd Battery at Ottawa. Trained at the Artillery Depot, Kingston, Ontario. Went overseas from St John, New Brunswick aboard the SS Metagama, embarking February 05, 1916. Landed at Plymouth on February 14. Posted to the Canadian Artillery Depot at Shorncliffe on arrival. The 32nd Battery was assigned to the 9th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, and moved to Steenvorde, Belgium by July 16, 1916. The 32nd Battery fired its first shots in anger at 5:20 pm on July 29, 1916 from the Ypres Ramparts. Saw action at Ypres, the Somme and Vimy. The battery was transferred to the 8th Brigade, CFA on May 06, 1917. Gunner Army Canadian Field Artillery 8th Brigade 32nd Battery 32nd Battery was transferred from the 9th to the 8th Brigade, CFA on May 06, 1917. Saw action at Passchedaele. Wounded, gunshot wound, right elbow at Canal du Nord, October 02, 1918. Wound was not considered serious, but he was evacuated to England. Struck off strength to the Canadian Artillery Regimental Depot when medically transferred. Came down with influenza and bronchial pneumonia while convalescing. Died of pneumonia on December 21, 1918 at Oxford Street Hospital, Reading. ]
