Uploader's Research notes: Source: LAC file [Private Army Canadian Infantry 14th Reserve Battalion Transferred from 179th Bn. Trained with 14th Res Bn at Dibgate Camp until posted to the 43rd Bn Private Army Canadian Infantry 1st Depot Battalion, Manitoba Regiment Posted as an invaild to the Manitoba Regimental Depot at Shorncliffe Camp. Spent most of this time in hospitals. Suffered fits/seizures on at least two occasions. On February 08, 1918 was evacuated to Bearwood Hospital. Medical chart stated that he was unconscious, paraplegiac and unresponsive on arrival. Died of cerebral abscess at 9:45 pm, February 08, 1918. Private Army Canadian Infantry 179th Battalion Previously served with the 79th (Cameron Highlanders of Canada) Regiment, militia. Attested to the 179th Bn at Winnipeg. Trained at Camp Hughes, Manitoba during the summer of 1916. Shipped overseas aboard the SS Saxonia on October 04 from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Landed at Liverpool on October 13, 1916. Attached to the 17th Reserve Battalion on October 21, 1916 for "rations and quarters. Assigned to the CASC Training Depot "On Command" from November 02, 1916 to January 04, 1917. Private Army Canadian Infantry 43rd Battalion Posted to 43rd Bn on August 02, 1917. Reported to his unit in the field in October 1917. Reported sick due to Whooping Cough and Rubella on November 12, 1917. Evacuated to 4th General Hospital at Devonport. Discharged as an invalid to the Manitoba Regimental Depot, Shorncliffe on December 13, 1917 ]
