Uploader's Notes: Husband of Mrs. Thomas Buffett, of Burgeo. The Lizzie M. Stanley of Burgeo, belonged to J. T. Moulton and was commanded by John Collier, a single man. She had a crew of five: Morgan Buffett, Joseph Ingraham (19 years), Thomas Buffett (20 years), Harold Knott (22 years) and Simeon Billard.
Ingraham, Buffett and Billard were married and left young widows. The schooner sailed from St. Pierre-Miquelon for Catalina, Newfoundland on December 6th to load fish but never arrived there. The schooner was reported by a Grand Banks schooner bound for St. John's east of Cape Race with a gale coming on. That was the last ever heard from the schooner.
