Son of Alexander Anderson and Susan I. C. Anderson of Poplar Grove Farm, South Side, Baddeck River, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia; brother of Captain JA Anderson MC 85th Bn and Nursing Sister MB Anderson RN
The CWGC site states that the death was on 28th October 1917 but from the war diary it was at about 0730 hours on 30th October 1917. This happened whist he was in command of the advance and had taken the vicinity of Vienna Cottage and the south side of the Railway Cutting.
This man had previously served for 6 years in the 94th Regiment. He was also serving in this regiment at the time of enlistment.
