His body was recovered and had a known burial location at Mosselmarkt Cemetery, but later could not be positively identified or located.

[Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 101st Battalion E Company Sailed with 101st Battalion aboard SS Olympic from Halifax to Liverpool, June 28 to July 06, 1916. The Battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival in England. Private Army Canadian Infantry 16th BattalionLanded in France on November 13, 1916 and was attached to the Canadian Base Depot at Havre. He joined the 16th Battalion at Camblain l'Abbe on December 08, 1916.
He was killed in action near Meecheele during the battle for Passchendaele.
