Uploader's Notes:
His mother said, when she signed his enlistment papers, that she felt that she was signing his death warrant.
He was one of my maternal uncles.
My mother said that he had survived the battle on that day, and that he was among a group of soldiers who were standing atop the position they had just taken, when an incoming artillery shell blew the entire group away!
CEF Burial Registers - Previously reported Missing, now Killed in Action. From information available, he was killed by the explosion of an enemy mine under the trench in which he was on duty.
Uploader's Research notes: His father and his maternal grandfather had both served in the British Army.
