Uploader's Notes: 18 months prior service with Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment. Son of Richard de Malpas Farmar Cotgrave and Amelia Farmar Cotgrave, of 13, Staverton Rd., Brondesbury Park, London, England. He was TOS with the 227th Battalion at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on March 11, 1916. At that time, he stated he belonged to the 51st Regiment, Soo Rifles; had two years prior service in the Imperial Army; and, had served 19 months with the 2nd Battalion, CEF. He was living at 2 Herrick Street, Sault Ste. Marie at the time of his second enlistment. His Memorial Cross is in existence as of March 2014.
