Son of George B. and Elizabeth Fotheringham, of 15 Buena Vista Rd., Rockliffe Park, Ottawa, Canada.
Originally buried by the enemy at Pillegrems Farm near Houthem, Belgium with his pilot, 2Lt J.V.A. Gleed. On clearance in 1921, Gleed's body was moved to Wyteschaete Military Cemetery. Lt Fotheringham's body was not identified and he has no known grave.
Uploader's Research notes: [Lieutenant Army Canadian Infantry 148th Battalion Lieutenant Army Canadian Infantry 20th Reserve Battalion Lieutenant Air Force Royal Flying Corps 45th Squadron Shot down near Houthem, Belgium as an observer in a Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter flown by 2Lt John Victor Ariel Gleed, who also perished. 2Lt Gleed has a grave in the Wytschaete Military Cemetery, while Lt Fotheringham has no known grave. ]
