Albert Edward Ahmed was was born about 1885 in Kennington England as Abdullah William L'Hage Ahmed the son of L'Hage Ahmed and his wife Elizabeth Uncles and admitted to Barnardo's Homes at age 7 after both his parents who were members of a Circus Troup died.Albert leaves Liverpool England on 13 June 1893 as a Barnardo Child on the ship Vancouver that arrives in Quebec City on 24 June 1893 for final destination the Barnardo Homes in Toronto His first placement was with Gordon Emerson of Bervie Ontario. In 1911 Albert Ahmed was living with Frederick Storey in Selkirk Manitoba. On 10 April 1916 a 27 year old Albert Edward Ahmed enlists at Liverton Ontario into the 160th(Bruce) Canadian Infantry battalion with previous Militia experience with the 32nd Bruce battalion.The 160th Bruce Battalion began recruiting in Bruce County in late 1915 and its Headquarters was in Walkerton Ontario. The 160th sailed for England on 17 October 1916 and it was absorbed into the 4th Reserve Battalion on 15 Feb 1918. On 30 April 1918 Albert Edward Ahmed is transferred to the 78th Battalion and is reverted back to a Private . On 11 August 1918 former Barnardo Child Albert Edward Ahmed in killed as a member of the 78th Battalion.
