Civil Engineer. Son of William and Henrietta Ashplant, of Haverhill, Suflolk, England. A Life Member of Corona Club, Westminster, England. Served as Chief (and Assistant) Engineer in various places in South Africa, Bahamas, Southern Nigeria, and more recently as City Engineer for London, Ontario.

Authority Letter Dated 29/12/1916:

Reported wounded and missing Sept. 25th, 1916. Was last seen by L/Cpl. Hynds now in hosp. in a shell hole with Machine Gun wounds in stomach and leg. This was on the night of Sept. 22nd during the taking of trenches East of Courcelette. A search party on the morning of Sept. 23rd failed to locate him
