Son of W. T. Blount of 50 Church Lane, Tooting, London, England, and the late Mrs Blount

Arrived in Canada aboard SS Lake Erie in April 1912. Settled at Waldron, Saskatchewan.

His grave location map reference was forwarded to War Graves on January 12, 1917, but later either could not be located or his remains could not be positively identified. Next of kin were advised circa February 1927.

Source: LAC files [Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 101st Battalion D Company Sailed with the 101st Battalion aboard SS Olympic from Halifax to Liverpool. The battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival in England. Private Army Canadian Infantry 30th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 7th Battalion

Proceeded to France on September 27 and attached to the Canadian Base Depot, Havre on arrival. Joined the 7th Battalion in billets at Bouzincourt on October 07. (The 2nd Infantry Battalion gave date and location as October 08 at Albert.)

Killed at Cemetery Trench near Courcelette by the explosion of a Mills bomb only four days after joining the battalion.
