[Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 101st Battalion A Company

Enlisted together with his brother William.

Sailed with the 101st Battalion aboard SS Olympic from Halifax to Liverpool, June 28 to July 06, 1916. The battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival in England.

Private Army Canadian Infantry 16th Battalion

Proceeded to France on August 27/28 and attached to the Canadian Base Depot on arrival in France.

Joined the 16th Battalion at Albert, France on September 21. The Battalion War Diary noted that tanks were seen for the first time that day.

Was reported Missing In Action on October 08/09, 1916 following the attack on Regina Trench. On May 17, 1917 he was reported to be presumed killed in action on or after October 09, 1916.
