[Private Army Canadian Infantry 17th Reserve Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 101st Battalion A Company Sailed with the 101st Battalion aboard SS Olympic from Halifax to Liverpool, June 28 to July 06, 1916. The battalion was posted to East Sandling Camp on arrival in England. Private Army Canadian Infantry 16th Battalion Proceeded to France on August 28 and attached to the Canadian Base Depot at Havre. Joined the 16th Battalion at Albert on September 21. He was hit by an artillery shell during the battalion's trench tour in front of Kenora Trench between September 25-28.
