Uploader's Research notes:

Howard acted as the witness for the enrollment of 444814 Frederick Joseph Tardy into the CEF. Could this be the Joe Tardy of Newcastle? This Joe Tardy gives his mother's name as Mary and his place of birth and his address as Limestone Maine. He also signed his name as "Fred Tardy" not Joe Tardy. So none of that info jives with Newcastle info. How would Howard know a fellow from Maine? Or is this just a matter of Howard being used as the duty "witness" that day?

The John and Joe Tardy mystery continues
