"Died of Wounds" He was wounded in the head and body by shrapnel from an enemy shell which exploded near him, while taking part in military operations near Marcelcave, in front of Amiens. After receiving attention he was taken to No. 5 Casualty Clearing Station where he succumbed to his wounds.
