Uploader's Notes: Ten months prior service with CASC. Son of Richard and Sarah Hicks, of Crumlin Park, Crumlin, Co. Dublin.
CEF Burial Registers - Died of Wounds. While watering his horses at a well near the gun-limber-lines which were situated in rear of Cayeux on August 9th. 1918, he was severely wounded in the abdomen by a shell from an enemy long range gun which burst almost under his horses. His wounds were dressed and he was taken to a dressing station and later evacuated to No. 47 Casualty Clearing Station where he died the following day.
