His brothers, B-3185 Pte. Stanley Mowbray Davenport, 8th Battalion, Rifle Brigade; and, 541 Pte. Albert Victor Davenport, 38th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, also died in the War. Stanley was Killed in Action near Hooge Crater, Battle of Neuve Chapelle, July 30, 1915; Albert Died of Wounds in France February 16, 1917.

This man had previously served for 2 years in the S.A. Police.
