Percy was initially sent to Liverpool with the 76th Battalion, arriving on May 5, 1916. He was transferred to the 36th Battalion on July 9, 1916. He was then transferred to the 58th Battalion on July 17, 1916 and landed in France. Percy was assigned to the 3rd unit. He was in the field starting on July 31 and was killed in action on Sep 20, 1916, seven and a half weeks into action.
