Uploader's Notes: The war diary states that the 19th battalion were relieving the 28th and 29th Battalions on the night of the 7th -8th May 1917 who were holding the front line to the left of Fresnoy Wood. The report on the battle states on P22 of the May 1917 entry in the war diary that the majority of men were killed outright by shrapnel and the battalion suffered casualties of 11 officers and 225other ranks.
