Son of Henry Kent and Emily Kent of 9 Croft Road, Hastings, Sussex, England; husband of Emily Kent

This man had previously served for 3 years as a Private in the 5th Bn R.S.Territorials.

The war diary states that the 75th Battalion were in this part of the advance for 3 days which was much longer that expected as most battalions were in the advance for 24 hours before being relieved. Part of the reason for this is the fact that the 87th battalion were unable to draw up in front of the battalion to allow them to withdraw thereby causing them to remain in position longer than expected.

Uploader's Research notes: Info from the attestation papers and this man is on the CWGC site. Info also from the war diary of the 75th Battalion [Private Army Canadian Infantry 75th Battalion ]
