Alexander had 4 brothers who all served in the armed forces during the Great War. Pte James McIntosh, 13264, 4th Battalion Canadian Infantry, Pte Albert McIntosh and L/Cpl Norman McIntosh both served with the Black Watch and Pte Charles McIntosh served with the Royal Army Service Corps. All 4 brothers would appear to have returned home safely.
