From a WWI memorial book published in Brockton, MA (USA), 1919, honoring the citizens of the city who died in the Great War (supplied by great grandson Richard Miller):

Private Louis Steve Miller of the East Ontario Regt. of Infantry, C.E.F., was born about 1888 in Rockland, Mass., the son of Louis F. and Julia Agnes (Hyland) Miller, now of 827 Main St., Brockton.

He was educated in the Brockton public schools, and after leaving school worked for some time with his father in the market. He afterward went to Winnipeg and was working in a hotel when he enlisted in the 90th Canadian Battalion, November 5, 1915. His army number was 186303.

His wife is dead, but his three children are now living.

He was reported "killed in action", May 3, 1917.
