STAR TELLS OF DEATH

Relatives Learn From Paper That Pte. J.J. Ogle is Killed

"If it had not been for The Star we should have known nothing about my brother-in-law's death," Mrs Jas. Olgle, 151 Strachan avenue, told the reporter today. Pte. Josiah J. Ogle, whose parents live in Belfast, Ireland was reported in Wednesday's casualty lists, but as he next of kin lived in Ireland, no notice was taken to his name. It was noted, however, in Wednesday's issue of The Star that his relatives lived at the Strachan avenue address, ad that the first information that Mr. James Ogle had that his brother was killed was when the paper was shown to him by his cousin, Mr. Harry Cutler.

Pte. Ogle was 24 years of age, and wen overseas last August. Previous to enlisting, he was employed on a farm near Paris, Ont. He was a member of Euclid avenue Methodist church, and the L.O.L. No. 864.

Toronto Star. May 4, 1917.
