Uploader's Notes:
Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mather. His first enlistment was under #442772 with the 55th Battalion and "Deserter" is noted on this Attestation Paper. His second enlistment (under #793206) took place on January 11, 1917 at Halifax with the 114th Battalion.
The RCR War diary notes, on 31 Oct 17 , that 2 ORs were KIA. It is very possible that the two lads killed were Wilmer Mather and John Matthews - both of the Miramichi. The bodies of both men were never recovered or identified.
