Son of Walter Dyer and Ellen Dyer (nee Caul, later Dowden); older brother of Walter Dyer (Service No. 4616)

Private William Dyer was very ill and was admitted to the 25 Stationary Hospital B.E.F. (British Expeditionary Force) Rouen, France on Feb. 25, 1919. He later died of Influenza Broncho Pneumonia/ Acute Miliary Tuberculosis on March 19, 1919, Rouen, France.

Information of William's parents: Father, Walter Dyer died in 1899; Ellen Dyer moved to Boston, her occupation was listed as a cook and she remarried. Her second husband was Thomas Dowden, who later left Ellen.
