Date of Birth declared on Attestation papers was August 2, 1886 and that he had been a member of the 4th Gordon Highlanders (Territorial Force) for three years, but birth record confirms the correct Date of Birth was October 1, 1883. Aberdeen Daily Journal Dis Cas 1-7-1916. 1918-19 Voter's Roll: Alberta, Golf Road. Previously lived Huntly Cottages. The surviving brothers who also lived in Canada, often came back to Aboyne on holiday.
