Husband of Katherine Shaw, of 732, 13th Avenue West, Calgary, Alberta.

His previous military experience is listed as 3rd Dragoons, Believed some South African service, RWWP Staff and the 6th CMR.

In the war diary he listed as dying when along with 80 other men he tried to repulse the enemy who had taken the trenches to his right which had previously been occupied by the 4th CMR. The 4th CMR had lost this trench when a mine expolded under them destroying it. After his death command was taken over by a Major Palmer who eventually had to give the order to withdraw when they had exhausted all their ammunition.
