Son of Edward and Hannah Jones, of Broughton's Buildings, Wrexham, North Wales; husband of Ellen Bowcott (formerly Jones), of Dickson, Alherta, Canada.

Redcliff Reservist Now Among Slain - It will be remembered that among those to leave Redcliff after the outbreak of war were six reservists. Although all of these proceeded at once to the front, the only one mentioned in the casualty lists was Jack Jones. In May 1915 he was reported missing but as no further word was received and as his allowance was still coming to his wife, it was thought he was still alive. However, the sad news came to his wife this week that he had been killed in action on May 7, 1915.

Shortly before leaving for the front Jones was married to Miss Nellie Coombs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coombs, of the Manyberries district, with whom she has been living ever since. To them was born a daughter. Mrs. Kitchen of this town is a sister. (Redcliff Review, August 3, 1916, Page 1)
