Uploader's Notes: On his Attestation his birth date is only given as 1890. The 21st Battalion tribute page adds that he was born in July 1890 based upon the 1911 census. No birth registration is found in the Ontario Birth Registrations, but one is found for his older brother Wilbert born in 1887. The 1901 census gives his DOB as 12 July 1889 (this date is used above.)
