Uploader's Research notes: Notation in 21st Battalion War Diary on board Cunard Liner Caronia returning to Canada 20-5-19, 2 days out of Halifax: "A considerable gloom was cast over the Battalion when it was learned that No. 2356571 Pte. A.J. Robertson, of "C" Company had died at 2225 hours from septic influenza. He was a teacher from Florida, U.S.A. before enlistment. He joined the Battalion in the fall of 1918 and proved himself of excellent worth in the assistance he gave in the Educational work during the months in Belgium after Armistice. He was deservedly popular and universal sympathy was expressed at his untimely demise." [Private Army Canadian Infantry 21st Battalion Private Army Canadian Infantry 21st Battalion C Company ]
