Murdered in quarters (gunshot) on McNabb's Island by Private Charles Fielder also 63rd Regiment. Fielder was found not guilty by reason of insanity at his trial on 22 March 1916 and confined to a mental institution.
Son of the late George and Annie Walker Williamson; of 56, Watson St., Aberdeen Scotland; husband of Jeannie Chesney Williamson. of 10, Falkland St., Halifax, N.S, HALIFAX (FORT MASSEY) CEMETERY contains 86 War Graves and the Memorials of two men, killed in the Halifax explosion, whose bodies were not recovered. On the morning of the 6th December, 1917, a collision took place in Halifax Harbour between a Belgian relief ship and a French vessel loaded with ammunition; and in the resulting explosion half a square mile of the city was destroyed and R, 500 lives were lost. Two hospitals were ruined, and one damaged.
