He apparently caught a cold while billeted in the barracks at Kingston but went with the rest of the recruits to Petawawa Camp where he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. After being confined in several sanitariums, Private Acheson died on September 14, 1919.
Son of Wier and Maria Acheson, of 304, Eureka St., Redlands, California, U.S.A. were they moved after Tempe enlisted.
