Uploader's Research notes: Source: LAC files [Private Army Canadian Infantry 83rd Battalion 1st Reinforcing Draft Sailed to England with the 1st Draft, 83rd Battalion aboard the SS Corsican from Montreal, Quebec on September 25, landing at Plymouth on October 05. Posted to West Sandling Camp on arrival. Corporal Army Canadian Infantry 39th Battalion Transferred to 39th Battalion the day after arriving in England. Promoted to Acting Corporal on October 09. Hospitalized at Moore Barracks Hospital with Influenza from December 26, 1915 to January 23, 1916. Reverted to Private on posting overseas. Private Army Canadian Infantry 24th Battalion Arrived at Canadian Base Detail, Havre on March 02, 1916. Joined the 24th Battalion in the field at Locre on March 15. The Battalion War Diary noted that the front line trenches near Voormezeele were heavily shelled throughout the day on May 19. He suffered shrapnel wounds to his head, and left arm; his left leg was amputated and his right leg had several fractures. He was evacuated to the 4th Field Ambulance at Reninghelst, where he died of his wounds at 7:25 pm the same day. ]
