War Diaries show he was wounded by a flare from a Very pistol on April 16, 1916.

Seconded to the Royal Flying Corps Sept. 22, 1917. Flew with 65 Sqn RAF, claimed 22 victories, awarded DFC and Bar, CdeG(F). Joined the R.C.A.F. in 1924 and died in an air crash at Camp Borden 1925.
