Uploader's Research notes: Wilfred Reid May the son of Alexander Esson May 1863-1932 and Elizabeth Reid May 1863-1941 joined the 202nd (Edmonton Sportsmen) in 1916 and sailed with them to England in November of 1916. Private WOP May rose through the ranks to Sergeant and spent most of 1916 as a gunnery instructor until he and his friend Ray Ross applied to join the Royal Flying Corps [Private Army Canadian Infantry 202nd Battalion Captain Air Force Royal Flying Corps 209th Squadron Distinguished Flying Cross This Officer has carried out numerous offensive and low level bombing patrols, proving himself on all occasions a bold and daring pilot.
