The No. 2 Construction Battaion (an all Black battalion) served in France with many of the men being assigned to the No. 5 Canadian Forestry Corps (Jura Group). However, some men were supplied to the Canadian Railway Troops as well.

While in France this man was charged with "when in active service, committed an offense against the person of an inhabitant of the country in which he is serving (rape)". He was found guilty and sentenced to death; however, this was commuted to life in penal servitude. (Source: War Diaries)
