Hold Funeral Friday For Col. F.H. Dunham

Funeral service will be held Friday for Lieut.-Col. Frederick Harold Dunham, 71. A veteran of two wars, who died Tuesday at Sunnybrook hospital. He was head of F.H. Dunham and Co., a woolens firm established in 1920.

Born at Saint John, N.B., of U.E.L. stock, he was a graduate of Central Technical school, Toronto, and was associated with the W.R. Brock Co.

Joining the Canadian militia in 1897, her served in the South African war with the First Canadian Contingent. During World War I he served with the 35th, 44th and 58th Battalions, C.E.F., and was twice wounded and mentioned in dispatches. He was awarded the M.C. and the V.D. From 1925 to 1927 he was lieutenant-colonel commanding the Queen’s Rangers.

Col. Dunham was a member of the Canadian Corps council from 1935 to 1938. He was a past president of the Township of York Community Services, former member of the board of directors of York Board of Trade and a member of the Canadian Military Institute, the R.C.Y.C. and Victoria Presbyterian church.

He is survived by his widow, Norma R. Dunham; one son, Herbert F. Dunham, Newmarket, and three daughters, Mrs. Eric Stephan, Montreal, Mrs. J.S. Vanderploeg and Mrs. Geoffrey W. Smith, both of Toronto.

Service will be held in Yorke Bros. chapel, Bloor St. W., with interment in Park Lawn cemetery.
