Nursing Sister Florence Hunter married Major Howard Ridout at Saint Margaret's, Westminister, in London, England, on November 24th, 1917. Major Ridout, a Toronto native, was with the Pay Corps. She was escorted to the ceremony by Col. James Roberts of Toronto, who was commanding Cliveden Hospital.

Miss Roberts was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hunter of Orono, Ontario. She was invested with the Royal Red Cross by the King at Buckingham Palace She had been on active service since September 1914 at Boulogne, Lemnos Island, and Salonika, with No. 1 Stationary Hospital.
