Uploader's Notes:

There is not a large amount of information available on Private Emery Haliburton Rost. We do know that he was the son of Haliburton Rost and that his brother Earl was killed at Hill 70 , in France, on 16 August 1917. Emery is buried in Mahone Bay and is listed in the CWGC records as belonging to the Canadian “Special Service Troops”. Emery would not live to go overseas. His death would come as a result of one of the largest explosions of the Great War while he was training at Wellington Barracks in Halifax. Emery would become one of the almost 2000 people killed in the Halifax explosion on 6 December 1917.

Uploader's Research notes: Pte Rost's complete service record is now (March 2014) available at LAC website "Soldiers of the First World War" [Private Army Canadian Provost Corps 2nd Special Service Company ]
