RESEARCH INFORMATION
Daughter of George Corbett Landells and Annie Landells (nee Kerr) of Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia;
Margaret Jane was travelling to Islay, Alberta to help staff the newly constructed hospital. War broke out and she promptly turned back East to enlist for overseas. She served in France and Greece. Suffered illnesses of measles and nephritis while serving overseas. Returned to Canada in 1920 and pursued her Post Graduate Certificate in Surgery, Pediatrics and Obstetrics at Bellevue Hospital in New York City in 1922. She returned to Canada and continued on to Alberta to work at
the new hospital in Lloydminster, Alberta. She Married William Roebuck, a local farmer and after his death, Margaret Jane returned to Nova Scotia to continue nursing in Truro. She retired and moved to Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia. She died in 1957.
